Time Management at Work
Get a better grip on your self improvement plans with improved time management skills. Tailor-make any of these to suit your needs and adapt accordingly to improve your time management at work or at home.
1) Write a good script for your ansaphone or voicemail and record it. For instance, tell callers what a suitable time range is for calling you directly, tell businesses that you're on the Do Not Call list and to move you from their listings, leave your domain name for website visitors, etcetera. It is like having your own secretary.
2) Get some other automated aids in the form of your computer. Take courses and acquire books about your type of computer and discover all you can about its features. The more you can learn about your computer, the more you can put it to work for you: creating web pages, setting up automated jobs like cleaning up its systems and compacting files, utilising software systems on it for safety tools and very much more.
3) Acquire and use a good planner or planning system. Franklin Covey products are superb for this. Based on a day by day notebook used by Benjamin Franklin, Franklin Covey products are popular around the world in all walks of life, with products available in all budget ranges with compatible software for computers and handhelds.
4) Learn to create folders expeditiously and effectively on your computer, with your e-mail and offline – all coordinating with one another as required. That way you can speedily grab someone’s folder if he or she calls in, irrespective of if you're online or not.
5) Time your use of the Internet and e-mail. Stop checking e-mail constantly and organize the settings so that e-mail does not arrive into your Inbox every five or ten minutes – or instantly. Attempt to check it just once in the morning and once in the afternoon. And similarly with Internet access, only log on once in the morning time and once in the afternoon to get all of your work done in vast chunks. In between, get away into the real world, work in some physical fitness routines, visit local customers or clients and prospects and enjoy life. You do not need an additional addiction.
6) Stop attempting to ‘multitask’ constantly. Invest all of your energy and fullest effort into just one single matter at one time until it is completed.
And determine more efficient use of your time and efforts with helpful articles online, videos, books and additional tools from the library. Go get em and use them and your time management at work and in your life in general will start to improve considerably!
